Katiecore is an aesthetic founded in my sophomore year of college. It was curated in such a way where the aim of it is to be fluid and fun. Katiecore is art as love language- it is the essence of me.

As a young girl in her early twenties, I struggled to find my aesthetic. I found myself jumping from different aesthetics and forcing myself to stay in one box and make art according to that aesthetic, but it never felt right. As a maker and as a human, I believe we are not meant to put ourselves in one box or follow one aesthetic. I decided to throw out all previous aesthetics and to just make art for the sake of it being something I liked looking at. From the freedom of that, I started to develop my own style and color palette, calling it Katiecore because I felt that it was just the essence and core of myself. Because I loved the art I was making, I found myself wanting to gift it to everyone I loved, thus becoming my love language. From there, I referred to my art as love or art as love language. My goal is to make art that is fun, fluid, full of love, and not to be taken too seriously.
